Hunter Valley Wine and Food Month This June


Whether you dream of sitting by the fire sipping wine or indulging in the gourmet taste of fabulous food and produce this winter, the Hunter Valley Wine and Food Month has it all. In its sixth year, the event is a gastronomic delight and a great opportunity for visitors to meet the Winemakers, Chefs and Producers from the region.

Proudly supported by Destination NSW, the Hunter Valley Wine Industry Association will present a series of activities and events set to warm those winter blues over the month of June. Every year the event sees many wine and food enthusiasts head to the world renowned wine region for an indulgent taste of the local produce and wine.

With accommodation and experience packages for all budgets, event goers can immerse themselves in wine flights by the fire, food and wine matching, the opportunity to become a wine judge, mix and make cocktails, dine with famous winemakers and much more. All of these activities provide a chance for visitors to become a part of the local community and share their Hunter Valley wine and food culture, along with all the other wonderful things the region has to offer.

Spicer’s Winter Fireside Package
Indulge this winter with a two night accommodation package in a King Spa Suite with your own log burning fireplace and spa ensuite. Receive a complimentary arrival mini bar with local bubbles and lots of goodies, a three course dinner for two in Restaurant Botanica on one evening (available Wed-Sun), Parisian Breakfast daily, one hour in-suite Fireside Massage Treatment per person, and a bottle of Hunter Valley Shiraz and toasting marshmallows to enjoy after the massage. $549 per couple per night midweek or $649 per couple per night over a weekend.
Olive Inspired Alfresco Long Table Luncheon
Experience a sumptuous olive inspired alfresco long table luncheon with matching glasses of wine in the olive grove at Whispering Brook. Delve into the world of olive oil tasting and appreciation and learn about food matches for different styles of olive oil. Taste freshly pressed olive oils, learn about the production of olives and the varieties and enjoy a tutored walking tour of the Estate. The Olive Long Table Luncheon commences at 12pm with a tutored olive grove tour, olive oil and food appreciation discussion and comprise four gourmet courses, matching wines, breads, olive oil and tea and coffee.   

Tempus Two Cellar Door and Hunter Valley Smelly Cheese Shop invite you to experience a decadent indulgence of premium wine and the world of cheese, including the exclusive Botrytis Semillon Gelato. The people are passionate about the art of combining flavours and textures with that added flair! Every Saturday in June starting at 11am.  

Fireside Indulgence at Tintilla
Join the Lusby family at Tintilla in front of their cellar door fire to discover the luscious world of fortified wines. Tintilla have a vast array of these delicious soul-warmers, including Liqueur wines made from semillon, chardonnay, cabernet and shiraz, and examples of both Vintage and Barrel-aged styles. Learn about the different winemaking techniques and as a special treat. Samples of the wines will be accompanied by cheese platters, the perfect indulgent warm-up before dinner at one of the Hunter's great boutique wineries. Every Saturday in June 4:30pm – 6:30pm.
